The William J. von Liebig Faculty Summer Grant Program
The overall purposes of the von Liebig Faculty Summer Research Fellowships are:
1. To encourage student faculty research across the science curriculum at Juniata College.
2. To encourage faculty to seek external funding.
3. To help new faculty make the transition to being active, independent researchers
The von Liebig Grants come in three categories:
The William J. von Liebig Faculty Summer Research Fellowships
These are grants of up to $10,000 for faculty who are actively seeking external funding for their research, or are preparing to do so.
The William J. von Liebig Mentoring Award
These are grants of $1000 for faculty who are supporting summer students and who have neither external support nor a von Liebig Summer Research Fellowship.
The William J. von Liebig Student Award
These are grants of up to $300 per week plus a housing allowance for up to ten weeks of summer research, plus a one-time allotment of $500 for supplies and travel.
